This was recommended to me by my yoga teacher…very useful if you practice Ashtanga or other “vinyasa flow” (i.e. sweaty!) yoga. It’s the exact size of a standard yoga mat, it doesn’t bunch up and trip me when I’m trying to jump through, and it absolutely stops my hands and feet from slipping. Plus, it folds up a lot smaller than a blanket and is easier to fit in a mat bag. It’s kind of spendy, but worth it if you practice regularly. Highly recommended.

It can be just a bit slippy at first but as soon as you sweat it gives you good grip. Expensive for a towel but I love all the colors – end up getting more from BargainYoga for much less. Don’t forget to wash twice before use. The color will bleed so don’t mix with other clothes. Also don’t overload the dryer with a SKIDLESS inside. It will make horrible noises because of the nubs. (I fired the cleaning lady afterwards.)

Finally found the answer to my “slippage” problem. What a difference it makes in my routine! My only regret is that I didn’t purchase it months ago!

After sweating and slipping in many a vinyasa class (even on a “non-slip” mat), a friend recommended this yoga towel. This product has saved my yoga practice! It does take one or two classes to get used to, but once you do, you are off to non-slip yoga bliss. Plus, the well-placed circle at the top of the mat gives you a visual to focus on to stay centered. Thank you Yogitoes!

This is exactly what I wanted!
I’ve had so many slipping problems in my Ashtanga yoga class. Both my hands and feet would slide and it was soooo hard to hold poses. Here is the answer!
It works great! I’m very happy.

I want to give the person who created this thing a hug.
It is very soft on the top, and has tons of tiny little rubber-like dots on the bottom, which grip the floor or yoga mat underneath like the toes of a tree frog. I used to slip all over the place on my mat, and I don’t move at all on this. Makes for a stellar down dog!

After being treated for severe post traumatic stress I decided to finally give yoga a try. I was over weight, stressed, and unhappy with my life. I decided to try a yoga studio near my house, they do a hot power yoga… it’s very intense. They say you burn between 600 and 800 calories during a class.
So I began going everyday… and that was 2 months ago. I have lost 20 pounds, went from not being able to hold a downward dog for more than 10 seconds to going to a 4 hour arm balancing workshop that will help with my crow and other arm balances that I couldn’t imagine doing two months ago. Along with the health benefits I am saving a lot of money on the thearapy bill
Because a good yoga instucter is like a therapist.
Ok so nothing about the mat yet but here goes. This is the second mat like this that I have purchased. I am so pleased with the first one but couldn’t take how many times I had to launder it. (I practice in front of the heat lamps and sweat… a lot!)
The point of this of couse is that I highly recommend yoga (especially heated) for anyone in need of an life altering experience. And I don’t believe there is a better product out there to help with the sweat and skidding involved in the practice.
Namaste!

Bought this for doing “hot” yoga, and I love it. Works well for absorbing sweat. Read the other reviews that said that the colors ran, so I bought a white one. If I wear bright colored clothing to class, the colors sweat into the towel! Now it’s a light purple/gray color, but the towel still works fine. I might buy a second one because I use it everyday. Can’t imagine using it twice in a row without washing.
